Courtney, Stacey and Sherri all trained under Robin and Elana and have all been teaching yoga for over 10 years in the Central Arkansas area. All teachers participate in training teachers at the 200 hr level in three different schools. To date they have trained well over 100 teachers who teach in Arkansas and around the world. Each teacher has a unique history and background and all have been dedicated teachers who continue to study with various yoga teachers in the lineage of Tirumalai Krishnamacharya.
Schedule: The school will be done in the teacher/student mentor style. Students will attend workshops sponsored or lead by our staff as well as work with our staff on preparing and putting on workshops. In addition we will have small group meetings arranged within our schedules once we have our group together. You will likely acquire your 200 contact hours within 18 to 24 months based on current offerings and availability, should you need a little longer that will be possible.
2014 Currently we are on a case by case mentoring basis.
Subjects: Advanced Pranayama, Chakras, Ayurveda and Yoga, Modifications, Special Populations, Adjust and Assist, Advanced Anatomy, Therapeutic Applications, Intuitive Yoga Teaching Techniques, Advanced use of Props, Private teaching, Ethics, Business Aspects such as Retreat and Workshop planning and much more.
Cost: *This is done on a mentoring style basis you pay as you go. Your out of pocket total cost should not exceed $2995.00 This is a collaboration with Courtney Butler of Balance Yoga and Wellness as head administrator and Robin Johnson as owner and figure head of the 500 hr training. All questions will be handled with Courtney. Done in mentor/ student style: You will pay the fee for each workshop you attend as it is priced.
What does that look like: Approx 5 weekend workshops in an 18 month period and assisting with workshops (approx 80 hours) at $225 per session= $1125 Personalized Day with each teacher, 5 teachers at $200 a day (40 hours) = $1000 Individual mentor work with teachers at a day rate or hourly rate $150 a day for 5 days (40 hours) = $750 Short mini workshops and mentoring approx at studios, assisting, observing and teaching (40 plus hours) = $750 Total out of pocket will be approx = $3625
Are there books I need to order? No, each teacher will have handouts for you. This is true mentor-ship style. However, teachers may suggest a book or reading prior to meeting. In that event you may need to purchase or borrow a book. We do not expect this to be the norm.
How to keep up with the hours: You will keep a specialized notebook with all your training hours and have each teacher sign off on your notebook. Once you complete your 200 contact hours and have taught 100 hours during training we will turn in your certificate to Yoga Alliance. You should keep in contact with Courtney during training and she will assist you in making sure you are meeting all requirements.
Program Requirements to Apply and Registering: Please email to firstname.lastname@example.org or snail mail to Courtney Butler at 120 Wildwood Circle, Hot Springs, AR 71901 You must have been a 200 hr RYT for 4 years to apply. Please give 3 references: one from a student, one from a work reference, and one from your teacher or one of your teachers.
