Who's teaching: Lead Teacher Courtney Butler: Certified Yoga Therapist C-IAYT, E.R.Y.T. 500, Stress Management Specialist, Certified Solution Focused Coach. Courtney has over 10,000 hours teaching and training experience and decades of experience in the field.
What type of training is this: This builds on the foundation from the 200 hour program where you learned to teach the general population. This program addresses those with needs that go beyond the general person walking into a typical yoga class. This is for addressing specific needs in a holistic manner (whole person).
A graduate's perspective: This is from a post on social media. Thank you Jennifer Bartlett for sharing. Most of you have already seen this on fb but yesterday I completed 300 hours Advanced Studies in Holistic Yoga with Balance Yoga & Wellness/Courtney High-Butler. I've been certified as a yoga teacher at the 200 hour level but this additional 300 hours was amazing and now will also register at the RYT 500 hour level. Everyone knows how passionate I am about healthy minds/bodies after my own self healing journey and this training included everything! Courtney is a yoga therapist and also works for the Dr. Dean Ornish program and she is a wealth of knowledge and especially with the proven medical benefits. Rena Wren was involved with the training, is an attorney, RYT 500 and full of knowledge regarding all things yoga and the legal side of the industry too. Some of the specialist that came in during training were a Neuropsychologist, Ayurveda Practitioner, Social Worker/Therapist and curriculum was everything from prenatal yoga, stress management, chair yoga, Yoga for seniors, yoga for depression, addiction, codependency, children's yoga, postures assisting with moving lymph fluid, safe practices/postures for people with diabetes, heart disease, back/spine issues, glaucoma, osteoarthritis, and many other conditions. I did not have time in my schedule to do this but I made the time. It was important to me to help myself and others who want a lifestyle change and to be able to do it safely and especially for anyone with any health concerns. ❤ (one last thing...if you are new: yoga poses are just 1 piece of the 8 limbs of yoga. So literally anyone can do yoga! The physical parts of it may just require adjustments! Standing on head is not required!) Yay me!!! Yay us!!!
