What should I bring: Comfy clothes, walking shoes, twin sheet, sleeping bag or blankets and pillow, yoga mat (bring a strap and block it you have it), toiletries, refillable water bottle, sweater in case it's cold, a great attitude, a spirit for adventure. A donation of a toothbrush and travel toothpaste for the P.D.A. (Disaster Relief, our seva). It's always a good idea to have any medicine you need and your insurance card with you in case of emergencies (though we sure don't expect any).
Please bring for our Seva:
Please bring one or more of these
Bathsize bar of soap
Toothbrushes (individually packaged)
Nail clippers finger or toe
Small wide tooth combs
What is SEVA? Seva means giving without any expectation of receiving something in return. I chose this term because the spirit of the retreat is fellowship among yoga teachers and students to share their talents and gifts with each other. Also the camp is the home post for the Presbyterian Disaster Relief which is dear to my heart, they teach people how to build and maintain solar panels with units to provide fresh water and electricity to needy areas in the U.S. and the world. They also collect school supplies and toiletries and distribute here and across the globe in the event of a disaster. We will learn about this and donate a toothbrush and toothpaste to the effort. In the spirit of Seva I ask all teachers to bring their schedules and materials to share with the other teachers and students. We will have a table to let people know where they can take yoga classes and other services we as teachers provide.
